No Barca return for Deulofeu

Barcelona s Gerard Deulofeu, currently on loan at Watford, has revealed he has no intention of going back to Camp Nou this summer.

Sky Sports report the winger told Spanish radio station  that Barcelona gave him up , and that he is considering his future at the moment.

Having grown up as a product of the Catalan club s youth academy, Deulofeu made his first-team debut in 2011/12, but he appeared only twice on the pitch that season in all competitions. Between 2013 and 2015 he spent a year on loan at Everton and Sevilla each, before signing for Everton on a permanent basis. After a year and a half at Goodison, he was loaned out to AC Milan for the second part of 2016/17, and then Barcelona activated their buy-back clause.

However, he still failed to nail down a…

Guardiola´s record runs with Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Barcelona compared

Manchester City s 4-0 triumph over Swansea City on Wednesday means Pep Guardiola now holds the record for the longest all-time winning runs in LaLiga, the Bundesliga and the Premier League.

A brace from David Silva, Kevin De Bruyne s free-kick and an excellent closing goal from Sergio Aguero gave City their 15th consecutive victory in the English top flight, surpassing Arsenal s previous best of 14 set between February and August 2002.

Nevertheless, it is still only the third longest league streak of Guardiola s stellar career.

Tottenham are up next for City is a mouth-watering clash at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, where three points would draw the runaway Premier League leaders level with the 16-match run their boss compiled at Barcelona from October 2010 to…

Vincent Kompany to extend City tenure

According to reports in England, Vincent Kompany is set to extend his stay at Manchester City for another year. The 32 year old has been a rock at the heart of the City defence ever since joining way back in 2008, and it genuinely feels like he belongs at the Etihad for the remainder of his career. He s certainly had ups and downs along the way with his injuries hampering his ability to play consistently throughout those ten years, but it seems as if the club are more than willing to keep him on the books at least beyond this year.

It s no secret that City are considered to be the favourites for the title once again this season, but they ll need veterans like Kompany on board if they want to overcome the challenge of Chelsea and Liverpool who both seem like sides that could mak…

Casillas: Real Madrid have to ´put the icing on the cake´ with Champions League win

Real Madrid legend Iker Casillas believes the club s run to Saturday s Champions League final will mean nothing if they eventually lose to Liverpool.

With 725 matches played, Casillas trails only Raul Gonzalez for appearances made for Los Blancos, winning the Champions League three times with the club, including the famous La Decima in 2014.

Madrid have made a dramatic run to Saturday s fun, coming from behind on aggregate in all three knockout ties to eliminate Paris Saint-German, Chelsea and Manchester City.

Writing for the Player s Tribune, Casillas insisted it will matter little if Liverpool lift the trophy on Saturday instead.

The comebacks are very good but now we have to get it. We need the icing on the cake, Casillas wrote for the Players Tribune…

Joao Felix: I can give so much more after taking Atletico chance

Joao Felix promised he has much more to offer Atletico Madrid after marking his first LaLiga start of 2021 with a goal and an assist against Valencia.

Sunday s 3-1 victory saw Joao Felix both score and create a goal for the third time in a game this season, more than any other Atleti player.

But the other standout displays from the club s record signing had come in the early weeks of the campaign.

Between the November international break and this clash at the Wanda Metropolitano, Joao Felix netted just once in all competitions, also supplying a single assist.

That underwhelming stretch saw the Portugal forward lose his place in the league XI, but a tight turnaround from Thursday s win at Eibar provided an opportunity he duly grasped.

Joao Felix ca…

Ian Evatt’s Bolton win again as Blackpool are beaten

One-time Bloomfield Road youngster George Thomason scored a spectacular 74th-minute winner to earn in-form Bolton a 1-0 Skybet League One win over Blackpool in front of 24,238 at the Toughsheet Community Stadium.

And Wanderers’ sixth successive win in all competitions was extra special for boss Ian Evatt who spent seven years as a player with the Seasiders, helping them into the Premier League.

Now, Evatt, who picked up a late booking, has sights set on taking the Trotters into the Championship.

But the home side were second best for large parts of the opening half. Karamoko Dembele curled a shot against a post after only three minutes as Neil Critchley’s team relished its task of trying to take down Bolton’s winning run.

However, the Trotters grew …

Trevor Bauer Rips Both Sides in Major League Baseball Stalemate

data-mm-id=”_188ddo704″>Trevor Bauer is as outspoken as Major League Baseball players come, and on Monday the Cincinnati Reds righty took to Twitter and ripped both sides in the league's labor standoff. Bauer essentially said the current posture of the owners and players will lead to the death of the sport. Bauer's Twitter rant is below:It’s absolute death for this industry to keep acting as it has been. Both sides. We’re driving the bus straight off a cliff. How is this good for anyone involved? Covid 19 already presented a lose lose lose situation and we’ve somehow found a way to make it worse. Arteta ‘wants to keep’ Arsenal man with three league starts in two years as Crystal Palace ‘prepare offer’

Crystal Palace have joined the race to sign Fulham-linked Arsenal playmaker Emile Smith Rowe and are preparing an offer , according to reports.

Smith Rowe has fallen out of favour under manager Mikel Arteta, who owes a lot to the 23-year-old.

In the Spaniard s early and very testing days as Gunners boss, the form of Smith Rowe helped keep him in a job.

He was rewarded with a new contract and the No. 10 shirt ahead of the 2021/22 campaign, snubbing interest from Premier League rivals Aston Villa.

Smith Rowe s form was excellent that season, scoring 10 goals in 33 league matches.
