Garde praises disciplined Lyon

Lyon coach Remi Garde praised his side s disciplined effort in their 3-1 win over Paris Saint-Germain in the Coupe de France quarter-finals.

Carlo Ancelotti s men took the lead through a Nene penalty, but Kim Kallstrom drew the game level with a free-kick six minutes after PSG s opener.

Lisandro Lopez made it 2-1 before the break, and Bafetimbi Gomis put the cherry on the cake from the spot in the final minutes of the game to send Lyon into the semi-finals.

Garde was quick to acknowledge the effort of his players, as they move a step closer to winning Coupe de France for the first time since 2008.

We saw a very nice first half, in the second one we were forced to retreat, Garde said.

We had great tactical discipline, which allowed us to make it through the end. I dove my hat to all my players.

Lyon are set to meet Gazelec Ajaccio in the semi-finals, and could potentially face Quevilly or Stade Rennes in the Coupe de France showpiece.
